One of the best fan sites for the best (#1) scripted show on TV (Check the ratings!) The forensics on the show are pretty accurate, and scripts are reviewed by the LA County Medical Examiner and other forensic experts to ensure accuracy of the portrayals. David McCallum, the actor who plays the beloved Donald "Ducky" Mallard, MD the nedical examiner on the show has carefully studied autopsies and has even attended one. He has spoken at a conference of Medical Examiners in conjunction with the real Navy ME. He's also been known to correct the writers if something isn't right. And the wacky and much loved Abby Scuito, played by Pauley Perrette is a wonderful humor break, but the actress herself has a degree in forensics that she had before being hired for the show. Pauley is also a bit of a stickler for accuracy when it comes to some aspects. All the actors themselves are all fans of the show, eagerly anticipating seeing each episode as it airs as none of them get to see the entire show during filming. (This has been mentioned in interviews with Rocky Carroll, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, and others.) Real forensics experts and medical examiners are fans of the show since it usually portrays a fairly accurate depiction of those activities. This has been mentioned in interviews with the NCIS ME and the LA County ME.
